When considering distances in Costa Rica I find it very powerful to remember when all is said and done Costa Rica is no larger than the state of West Virginia. The canton of Puntarenas is all along the Pacific coastline. We are in Jicaral, which is on the Nicoya Peninsula. For another map view click here!

How to get to Brisas La Tigra, Jicaral, Puntarena (on map look under the G in Gulf of Nicoya for La Tigra.)

1 - Fly to San Jose Rent a Car in the airport and drive to Puntarenas..about two hours. Take the ferry across to Playa Naranjo  then drive N about 13 miles to Jicaral.

2. Fly to San Jose, walk outside 5 minutes to local bus to San Jose ($1) Take taxi to small Terminal called San Carlos (.90 cents) Take bus to Jicaral. Buses leave San Jose twice a day at 6:00 AM and 3:30 PM  It is a little long but a relaxing 3 1/2 hour ride to Jicaral over the Friendship Bridge (gift from Taiwan) and the Tempique River.

3. Fly to Liberia rent a car or take  taxi to bus station (Terminal) take bus to Jicaral . (you are going south to Nicoya/you will pass through El Coco) continue Rt 21 - if driving this road has some rough spots go during the day time. (2 1/2 hrs)

4. Once in Jicaral..come see us our offices are in  Cabinas Peninsula - Next to Cafe Internet. The road to lA Tigra is 1 KM north of Jicaral ..look for road to village of San Pedro (left)..uphill to the T  (this is La Tigra) turn right and again right at Y. go past Catholic Church on left..look to right down valley to the Gulf of Nicoya . You are in Brisas La Tigra!

5. Fly to San Jose then take Sansa Airlines (domestic / approved by FAA) to  Tambor Airport in the south of Nicoya Peninsula.. We will pick you up and bring to Jicaral over an old fashioned country road ( 1- 2 hours) You will get to see immediately the rural atmosphere of Nicoya. Also nearby are many of the wonderful beaches for which Nicoya is famous around the world.
